NEF Gölköy
Description
NEF Gölköy is a quiet residential project in Bodrum’s Cennet Bay, shaped as a sensitive response to the region’s natural landscape, endemic ecology, and architectural heritage. Rather than imposing itself on the land, the project blends into the terrain through a contemporary interpretation of Bodrum’s iconic single-house typology.
Guided by the site’s topography, slope, vegetation, microclimate, prevailing winds, solar exposure, and view corridors, each unit is designed to establish an authentic sense of place. With local stone masonry, horizontal massing, seamless indoor-outdoor transitions, and low-density planning, NEF Gölköy proposes a modest, timeless architecture for living with nature.
Beyond its physical form, the project reflects a deeper idea of belonging. Architecture frames the landscape without overwhelming it, allowing each dwelling to become a space for contemplation, stillness, and connection — a built environment that listens to nature rather than competing with it.
